The idea of 'Stepping into our Divine Soul Truth' and 'Living our Divine Soul Blueprint' sounds really good and enticing, however, in order to step into the fullness of WHO WE ARE, we have to LET GO OF WHO WE ARE NOT.
We don't get to keep both.
And letting go of who we are not is not always comfortable and definitely not always easy
So I wanted to share with you the part of me that must die right now in order for me to truly live:
The Good Girl: It's time for the Good Girl to DIE
I've worn the Good Girl mask for as long as I can remember. Not because anyone made me, but because she felt SAFE.
She felt safe because when you feel everyone else's feelings, it's good not to make too many waves.
The good girl taught me:
To do what you're told
To not ask for what you really want
But rather for what appears acceptable
To not make too much noise
Or stand out from the crowd
To not take up too much space
To not show too much skin
To be modest and don't boast
To not say what you really think and feel
To do well but not outshine others
To work hard
To put other people's feelings before your own
To eat the burnt toast without complaint
To give more and take less
To not make a scene
She taught me TO BE LESS than who I truly am in order to be accepted
It's time for the good girl to die
She has to die so I can fully be ME
It's time for the good girl to die
In order for me to truly LIVE
So here I am saying goodbye to an identity I have lived with for over 40 years and I can feel the grief, the sadness, the anger and I can also taste the FREEDOM.
Because she has been part of me for so long I make habitual choices based upon the conditioning of The Good Girl. So in order for me to let her go, I must remain conscious and aware of WHO is making the choices: My New Expanded Awareness or The Good Girl? And I am committed to choosing my new awareness as much as I possibly can.
